A free life simulator. One life is drawn from real demographic statistics — where you are born, how long you live, what ends it. You get the ending first, then step backwards through that life, one year at a time, until you reach the day you were born.
Play it free →Most life simulators run from birth to death. This one runs in the opposite direction, using the same family of public data. Reversing the order changes what a year means. A plain line — "moved to another city at 31" — reads as a small event when you don't know the ending. Once you know that life ends at 47, the same line becomes a countdown.
Forward, a year looks like chance. Backward, the same year looks like a setup. That reversal is the whole idea.

Some runs end very early, because that is what a life table says. The child mortality gap between countries — 115.6 versus 2.4 deaths before age five per 1,000 births — is visible in the model rather than smoothed away.
