Learn OpenShift
by breaking it.
A 3D OpenShift 4.22 cluster in your browser. Type real oc commands, run S2I builds, expose Routes. Then break the platform and fix it.
20 levels 12 timed labs 55 exam objectives No install
This is the Three.js renderer, not a screenshot. Start a mode and it becomes your cluster.
Four ways to run your cluster
Every mode is scored and saves its progress in this browser. Pick the one that matches the time you have.
Inside the simulator
A real cluster model, not a quiz. Controllers reconcile, builds run and Routes get admitted — in this tab.
Type the command. Watch the cluster answer.
A simulated oc with the commands that matter: new-project, new-app, expose, set env, rollout, adm policy and auth can-i, with honest Forbidden, NotFound and CrashLoopBackOff output when it fails.
Real manifests. Real YAML. Real mistakes.
A virtual filesystem with editable Deployments, Services, Routes and Secrets. oc apply -f and apply -k, Kustomize overlays, OpenShift templates, Helm charts, and an htpasswd file for the identity labs.
Break it. Fix it. Get a score.
Incidents arrive uninvited: failing pods, blocked Routes, quota denials. Diagnose with describe, logs and events, then repair the resource. Build freely in the sandbox and the Architecture Advisor grades the platform 0–100.
Every EX280 objective has a drill
All 9 objective groups and 55 bullet points from EX280V422, mapped to campaign levels and timed labs. Pick one to see where it's drilled.
Where this comes from
OpenShift Games is a derivative work of K8s Games, the game that put a Kubernetes cluster in 3D on the web.
K8s Games by Rohit did something the documentation never does: it made a cluster a place. You could build a Deployment, watch it schedule, kill a pod and see the controller put it back — in a browser, with no install. It is Apache-2.0 licensed, and its source, spirit and interface are the foundation this project grew from.
OpenShift Games keeps that idea and points it at the exam: a full OpenShift 4.22 platform model with Projects, Routes, S2I builds, ImageStreams, SCCs, RBAC evaluation, quotas, LimitRanges and OLM operators, and every campaign level mapped to the official EX280V422 objective groups. The homage is intentional and permanent.
- OpenShift 4.22 semanticsProjects instead of namespaces, Routes instead of Ingress, BuildConfigs and ImageStreams for source builds.
- EX280 objective mappingNine groups and 55 bullets tracked across levels, timed labs and quick labs.
- A real oc CLInew-project, new-app, expose, set, rollout, adm policy and auth can-i, with honest failures.
- Platform operationsQuotas, LimitRanges, ClusterResourceQuota, Operators, SCCs and LoadBalancers that behave like the platform.
- Twenty levels, five chaptersFrom your first Project to a full production platform build.
- Twelve timed labsSpeed drills from CrashLoopBackOff to edge TLS Routes, scored against the clock.
