Mechanical Workshop

Build→Connect→Press play→Watch the machine work

Both cuts are made from real gameplay. Godot 4.7.2 Movie Maker recorded the game frame by frame, with its own sound. The game files were not changed. A small recording script ran in a separate copy of the project and drove the game with ordinary mouse input.

The full 16:9 frame sits centred at 1080×608 and is never cropped. Above and below it, a blurred, darkened copy of the same shot fills the frame, edged by thin brass rules. Captions sit in the top band. The secondary line sits in the bottom band, clear of the Shorts and Reels buttons.

Hook change. I split your line in two. "I built a machine…" opens the video, and "…and it actually worked." lands exactly when the lamps come on. The open sentence gives viewers a reason to stay to the end, which matters most on Shorts. A bottom-band line, "16 parts · 5 stages · one button", tells viewers what they are watching while the machine runs.

What to record, and why

  • L30 The Great Workshop is the hero. It has all five stations, from POWER to FINAL ACTIVATION, with gears, belts, two ropes, pulleys, weights, a fan, the ball, dominoes, the crate, a spring, a switch, the LINE DRIVE and the generator. The room stays dark until the end, then the lamps light one by one. No other level has that payoff.
  • L20 Master Contraption II gives the hook close-up. Its power section has the biggest gears and a visible belt, close together, and they turn from the first frame.
  • Workshop → Demo Machines → Crazy Machine, opened with EDIT COPY, not PLAY DEMO. That way the ∞ tray and the SAVE button are on screen, which reads as "your own sandbox".
  • Backups: L28 Factory Control (the room lights up system by system) and L21 Double Drive (one motor, a drawbridge, a single strong lamp).

Strongest moments

  1. L30 lamps: the dark hall lighting up lamp by lamp. This is the emotional peak, so show it in real time.
  2. Gear snap: a dragged gear clicks into mesh with a brass flash. It shows the main idea in one second.
  3. Crate launch: the spring throws the crate up to the CRATE LIFT switch, and the LINE DRIVE starts.
  4. 9 kg gate lift: two weights fall on ropes and the gate rises slowly and heavily.
  5. MACHINE COMPLETE with all three stars ticking in.

Audio

  • All sound in both cuts is the game's own. It was recorded with the picture: motor start, gear layer, belt, pulley, rope creak, impacts, spring, switch click, lamp buzz and level complete. The end card uses the game's own lamp_click, lamp_on and room tone. The hook adds the game's motor_start at 55 %.
  • In the 2× sections the sound is sped up with a time-stretch, so pitch stays natural.
  • No music is used. If you add some, look for a minimal, slow industrial pulse around 90–100 BPM. Use a muted kick and low synth bass, with metallic percussion that leaves room for the gear clicks. Bring in one warm pad when the lamps turn on. Use only a track you own or have licensed.

Production notes

  • On screen, the gear, pulley, weight, belt and rope are placed live with real mouse input. The other 11 parts of the 16-part machine were already in place when recording started. The run is the game's own known 3-star solution, and the result it shows (12.3 s, 3 stars) is genuine.
  • The soft ring that shows where the finger is was drawn by the recording script. It is not part of the game UI. Mobile trailers normally show a touch marker like this.
  • The run is shown at 2×. It is honest editing, but if store rules or your own preference call for it, add a small "2× SPEED" tag in the corner. Do not slow the lamp finale down.
  • Fonts: Inter Display (OFL) for the overlays. Colours come from scripts/visual/palette.gd: BRASS_LIGHT, LAMP_ON and STEEL_DARKEST.
  • Google Play rules: if this goes on the store listing, store pages usually crop or play the video at 16:9. The end card's "ANDROID" text is not the official Google Play badge. Use the official badge only under Google's badge guidelines.
