Shrinking you to the size of a protein…
Explore a cell, make an enzyme and release it · Made by Dr Daniel Mompel Riera · NLCS Jeju
As long as you need: it saves as you go. About 60 to 90 minutes.
Shrinking you to the size of a protein…
You are inside one cell of a salivary gland. Your mission: make the enzyme amylase and release it from the cell. Each place of the cell does one job. A place wakes when you carry what it needs, so you can choose the order of some places. Every step waits for you. After each place, check what you learned: a first letter, the word list or a hint is there if you are stuck.
A pupil signed in with their school Google account has every check and every finished place saved for you, live on the teacher page's 🔬 Practicals board. Signed out, the game works the same and nothing leaves the computer. The world shows the true shapes and places of the parts of a salivary gland cell; the colours and the light are made magical, and molecules are drawn much larger than they are. "See the real thing" shows real diagrams and electron micrographs.
